Derived from the Portuguese futebol de salao and the Spanish futbol sala/de salon, futsal emphasizes improvisation, creativity and technique and makes a great outlet for players looking to increase their technical skill while enjoying some camaraderie and light competition.  MSC has organized fall and winter leagues for registered players, and games are played indoors at the AT&T Sports Center on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway. Play is with a futsal-specific ball.

Some other rules of the MSC Futsal League:

• Teams play four-a-side, without keepers, using small indoor goals.
• Matches consist of two, 12 and a half-minute halves.
• Kick-ins replace throw-ins for balls into touch. All free kicks are indirect.
• Goal kicks may be taken from anywhere along the byline.
• This is a NO CONTACT league. We want to emphasize fast-paced action, technical skill and creativity as much as possible, and as such, any player accruing three fouls in one game will automatically be assessed a yellow card and must sit out three minutes of action before returning.
• No coaching is allowed.
• Draws will be broken by a penalty shootout from the halfway line, best-of-four, with all team members participating.
