MSC Friendlies Kick-Off Summer Season

The first annual MSC Friendlies will take place over the weekend of May 30-31 on the turf at both Eagle River and Chugiak high schools. Overall, there will be 34 full-sided matches contested between 29 different Alaska teams, including teams from Cook Inlet Soccer Club, Alaska Rush, Full Force, Northern Lights, Kenai and Eclipse.

WHAT: Full-sided (11v11) friendly match play (8v8 for the younger teams), with each team scheduled to play from one- to three regulation-length matches against MSC and other Alaska competitive teams. This is a great chance to work the kinks out after a long winter spent indoors, and to help your teams prepare for Ina K and the rest of the summer season. All matches will be officiated by qualified referees.

WHEN: Sat., May 30, and Sun., May 31. Matches will start at 8 a.m. each day and run through 9 p.m.

Concessions will be available on site; there will be other games and individual-skill contests for players, and team coaches and players will also be able to take part in a Coerver® Coaching individual-development session (offered once daily). TR Stoneback, Coerver® Coaching NW Director, and other members of the Coerver® Alaska staff will be also be presenting a one-hour informational symposium on Coerver® Soccer Schools and Programs, preceded by a field demonstration from recent graduates of Alaska’s first Coerver® Center of Excellence.

Chugiak High will serve as event headquarters. For more information, please contact MSC Technical Director Troy Letherman.
