MSC teams compete in up to five tournaments within the state of Alaska each summer (Ina K, Midnight Sun, Far North, Zane Cup and the Alaska State Cup), as well as continue on to Far West Regionals (US Youth Soccer) or US Club Regional play.
Tournament play is directed by the team coach, in consultation with MSC senior staff, who consider a host of factors in determining the best venues for each MSC team to compete. Not all teams will take part in all tournaments, though we do allow our players the option to guest-play with other competitive teams if they so choose (and if their play will not conflict with existing MSC commitments).
In addition, coaches of MSC competitive teams are encouraged to put forth a plan for out-of-state or even international travel for their teams. The club recommends highly the experience—and not just for the soccer-related benefits, but also for the social and educational experiences outside travel brings—and we will assist in selecting a proper venue for each team, travel and tour arrangements and even scheduling outside clinics or friendly games.
For MSC players seeking further travel opportunities, club staff will utilize our extensive network of coaching contacts to assist in finding other elite teams and tournaments looking for guest players.
Please see our Travel page for more information on the whereabouts, results or upcoming destinations of MSC travel teams.
